Resistance training and resistive exercise is often overlooked in stroke rehab, even though research has found that it plays a part in improving cognitive function in stroke survivors. Cognitive testing revealed that both resistance training and aerobic exercise contributed to improvements in cognition at 6 months.

This course provides treatment techniques and exercise protocols using resistive bands for therapists involved in neurological rehabilitation. to go back to their treatment environments and immediately be able to utilize these techniques. Specific exercises are then introduced including exercises for the UE, LE, and core stabilization techniques to increase overall function as well as balance. With these techniques a therapist go back to their treatment environments and immediately be able to utilize these techniques in their daily patient care.
